Designed by Percy Dalton, built in steel by present owner in 1996 (featured in PBO Issue 381 1998). 25’ LOD with 8’ bowsprit, beam 9’, draft 4½’, displacement 5 tons. Very pretty boat with huge amount of space below, self-draining cockpit, wide side decks and secure foredeck, suitable for long distance passages / budget blue water cruising.
Mainsail, staysail and Wykham-Martin roller-furling jib, with masthead fittings for topsail if desired. Varnished pine mast, with spruce bowsprit and gaff, Colombian pine boom; varnished Opepe hardwood / cream painted marine ply interior; charcoal cabin heater with external flue.
3 berths (two fore and aft ones in main cabin that also convert into athwartships double, and quarterberth; marine toilet, washbasin and hanging locker in forepeak. 12 gallons freshwater tank capacity; galley with ceramic tiled worksurface, gas cooker and stowage for food/utensils; large chart table (with chart storage under) and instruments (Magellan GPS, Nasa Target echosounder, Navico VHF radio, rev counter, fuse panel). Other equipment – tow log, Navico Tillerpilot, Sestrel Moore main compass, hand bearing compass.
35lb CQR anchor with approx 60m of 5/16 galvanised chain (Danforth kedge also available), windlass, various warps, fenders, sheets etc.
